We are excited to announce a five-day clay workshop for children ages 5–8, or 9-12. This workshop is designed to introduce or expand your child's experience with ceramics through daily two-hour sessions from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Throughout the week, students will demonstrate their understanding of handbuilding fundamentals by creating a collection of original works. Each day focuses on a different technique, including pinch pots, coil building, slab building, and sculpting. On the final day, students will paint all the pieces they created during the week. Our process encourages creativity and planning; students will watch a demonstration, sketch their ideas on paper, and then bring those designs to life. All work will be high-fired at the end of the session and will be ready for pickup after a couple of weeks. Limited to 10 kids per session. This is a drop off class.
