This eight-week course is designed for intermediate students looking to refine their handbuilding techniques. Instructor Michelle will guide students in working with complex structural forms, experiment with advanced surface design, and refine their form or experiment with alterations. You don’t need to be a master to take this class, your just need to have taken a handbuilding class in the past and be familiar with basic handbuilding techniques.

Class meets weekly on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM, running from June 24th - August 12th

Weekly Schedule & Dates

Included Studio Access

To support skill development outside of instruction, registration includes 2.5 hours of independent open studio time per week. These hours must be utilized during the studio's designated open hours and allow students to practice construction, trimming, or glazing at their own pace.

Materials and Firing Fees

  • Tool Kit: A standard pottery tool kit is required for the class and is available for purchase at the studio for $20.

  • Firing Fees: Firing costs are calculated by volume at $0.03 per cubic inch per fire. The total cost for a completed piece requiring both bisque and glaze firings is $0.06 per cubic inch.

Studio Preparation

  • Attire: Pottery is a messy process. Please wear comfortable clothes and shoes that you do not mind getting dirty.
